Or should we just go in there and jack them up?

You are assuming that they will break their long standing history and actually do something. Don't count on the UN to actually get serious and follow through with anything besides writing another resolution. They are worthless as a pile of hen $hit.

The UN is now and ineffective organization for controlling wars and warlike behaviors. The UN does good work in regards to humanitarian aid, but when it comes to international conflict they are a failure. In 60 years they have been able to settle the problems with Israel and Palestine. And it was their mandate the created the state of Israel.

The UN is a corrupt body, so it's hard to 'force' it to do anything meaningful. It's also an impotent body, so, even if bribed into action would accomlish nothing.

You talk as if your country is not part of the UN. If the UN isn't doing something about it, it is because you are not doing anything about it. The UN is not a "thing". The UN is only as strong as its member states.
