at 14 mate ur body isn gonna get much bigger because you are not fully developed but buy weights from shops and at your age do it 3 times a week on the days you are not doing weights heres a regime for you mornming and night which will get you stronger, - ;

so do this;
stretch first so blood flows to the muscles then
1) 15 press ups
2)20 knees to chest
3)20 squats
4) 5 pull ups
5) 20 knee to elbow
6) 15 box jumps
7) 15 tricep dips
8) 20 half sits
9) 10 lunges

do this morning and night and u will notice a considerable difference, eat lots of protetin and carbohydrates and you will burn off the carbs and put on the protein as muscle! and good luck if u dont no any of the exercises there are useful sites to tell u what they are ;

there are three different press ups, 1 close arm press up builds up biceps, 2 normal press up builds upper body and some are and 3 wide arm press up builds pecs!

im just 18 and im 230 lbs but i go to the gym a lot, take protein supplements and have my own large weight/gym at home. for a guy who is not particularly muscular just tone up dont try and weightlift it wont work!

Sure start of slowly and gradually and work into more repetitions.
Things you can do outside of the gym:
Cardio:
Run, Stairs, Brisk Walks, etc
Exercises: Push-ups, Dips (use for instance the bathtum face your back to the tub and palms on the side of the tub you want to bend your arms to a 90 degree angle and then push up to extension, works the triceps. In addition you can do a whole lot more exercises with the help of some dumbells, you don't need that many perhaps something light like 10's, 20's, and 30's.

You need to put a strain on your muscle to build size. That why you need to lift heavier weights to get bigger. If you just do light weights, you will get muscle endurance and may see some increase, but you will see more progress if you have weights.

Pull ups, pushups, and dips (to work your triceps and chest) are a good start. Really try and do good form on these instead of just trying to do a bunch of them, and you will feel every muscle that is being used during each rep.

If you plateau and are not getting any bigger, you could wear a backpack with books for extra difficulty and see if that works for awhile.

For legs, try popups, standing long jumps back and forth for 20 reps, and lunges.

For abs: crunches, leg lifts, and side bends for 15 minutes at the start and end of a routine.

Fill the muscles with blood, they get bigger. Stress the muscles and they separate, creating new muscle, then they fill with blood. Bigger muscles. Lift more weights. also feed them what they need - high quality protein. stay hydrated. take vitamins and eat vegetables.

The weight of your body is a proportion equal to the kind of stress load it can take. Going sit ups, pull ups, crunches will all build great muscle. Simple objects like jugs of water are as good as any bar bell and better than nautilus machines (independent muscles are used more) as well.

Why pay for it when you can get a job at a decorative rock yard center, they pay you and you get a great muscle building workout.

hey man your only 14...your muscles will come naturally (with exercise and good eating) in couple years. My friend got jacked when he was 17 from working out and eating good. Pushups will get your chest huge. Do crunchers and other ab exercises and after couple months (if you do it everyday) you'll have a six pack and the girls will love you. haha. Good luck kid.

Absolutely. Do loads of excercise but start fo in moderation. Sit-ups, crunches, press ups, lunges are the main excercises that help build up muscles. Good luck x

Just get some free weights at a sporting goods store, or maybe even Wal Mart, eat TONS of protein, (eggs, fish) and lift weights at home. Good luck!

The only way to build muscle is to lift objects that will tear the muscle tissue. Muscle builds when the muscle tissue is torn, and then repairs itself. Otherwise, if you simply eat more, you'll only be gaining fat.

EAT BOY!!! Food is fuel...Food is good...Fruit,eggs,cheese,meat,veges,and just food. Pushups,situps,dumbell lifting,and all that will help you. You need to make it a factor in your head before you can start or else you'll give up to quickley. also run...do what ever! ALso maybe purchase whey protien or weight gainers powder from GNC, that will help dramticlly.
