my golden gourami has a foggy looking white spot. Its too big to be ich but it doesnt look big enough to kill him. What is this?

thanx you guys i just put in some fungus medicine and it dissapeared within a half an hour

Foggy looking sounds a lot like fuzzy or cottony. Those are both terms used to describe a fungus infection. Never judge whether a spot on a fish will kill the fish by it's size, that really has nothing to do with how deadily it could be.

Treat for fungus with any good over the counter fungus medication available fromany good pet shop. One quality brand is Maroxy.

There is also a slim chance this is a bacterial infection. If it dosen't get better after a few days of fungus treatment then you will need to treat with an antibiotic. I would recommend Maracyn 2 or Maracyn TC.

Make large water changes, increase the tank temperature and wait an watch for another 48 hrs before you start medication for fungus or bacteria infection.

It's a fungus, you need to get him out of the tank and hold him in a quarentine tank and get some medication for him

sounds like a fungus. you can get stuff for that at your pet store.
