I went for my ultrasound yesterday and the ultrasound technician told me she "thought" I was having a girl but couldn't be sure because the baby's leg was in the way but she also said she saw no boy parts. I guess I'll hold off from shopping for a girl because she wasn't too convincing. There's a chance she's wrong and it is a boy "hiding" Has anyone been told they were having a girl and ended up having a boy instead?

Taliban - I'm suprised you got any money at all. The ultrasound technician can only give a best guess..it's not an exact science so I have a hard time believing I could sue anyone for anything. I'll just take their opinion with a grain of salt. I won't start shopping for a boy or girl until I have a 3d ultrasound and hopefully have a clear. no-doubt about it view of his/her genitals.

You should get a copy of the report. Then sue sue sue!!! I had the baby's room painted pink, bought a wardrobe of girlie clothes, and spent a small fortune on "It's a girl" cards, cigars and other items. Guess what? It was a boy, and I had a lawyer demand the hospital reimburse all my losses plus compensatory damages, loss of expectation, punitive damages for gross negligence and incompetence etc. etc. etc. Long story short - my boy has 3 years of his future college tuition payed in full.

This happened to my cousin a couple years ago. She had 3 ultrasounds and they told her a girl every single time. The last one she had was at 27 weeks. I threw her a girl baby shower, she had a girl name picked out and *poof!* It was a boy.

They originally told me I was having a boy (about 16 weeks) but they did ultimately tell me a girl although my daughter had her legs crossed for many subsequent ultrasounds afterwards and I didn't find out it was a girl for sure until about 32 weeks. She's now 6 and it was certainly not a sign of things to come!

Yes! That happened with my first son who was supposted to be a daughter. Ultimately, the baby needs to be in the right position for them to see for sure. Mabye you will end up having another ultrasound before it's all over? Otherwise, greens and yellows it is :) Congrats & Good luck!

No ultrasound tech can tell you 100% for sure what you are having. They may say looks like a boy or they may say they are pretty sure that you are having a girl but they can not be for sure.I know when I lived in Ohio the tech was not allowed to say what you are having. They would have to word it as(it looks like a boy/girl).The tech put on my ultrasound pic(I`m a boy) that she gave me but also warned me that she is pretty sure Im having a boy but can not say for sure.I did have a boy.

Same thing happened to me 14 years ago. They said I was having a girl and I had a boy, now I'm 26 weeks pregnant and she said a girl because she could not see anything. I'm not buying anything pink, only green, yellow and light blue.

This happened to a relative of mine and also a friend. They plain out told her (and were pretty positive) that she was having a baby girl, BUT she ended up having a baby boy.

my advice is to wait a few more weeks and get a "keepsake" ultrasound (you have to pay, but its not too bad) They will take alot of pics and be able to tell you better
