First off, I'd disagree with the person who says Manny won't be a first-ballot HOFer. He's going to have 500+ homers, and his slugging and OPS numbers are among the top 10 of all-time. If that doesn't make for a first-ballot HOFer, then I'm not sure exactly what does.

As for who will have the better career and be better remembered, it will probably be A-Rod but not by as much as many seem to think. The big thing is that he's got a realistic shot at Aaron's record, and getting that would mean the ultimate historical recognition. He's also a far better fielder than Manny.

Great comparison, though. Manny, as great as he is, often gets overlooked. His numbers to this point are as good, and in some cases better than Rodriguez. However, I think Alex will do enough power-wise to be remembered as the better player, deserving or not.

Your talking about two of biggest impact players in the game, A-Rod (1) and Manny (2).

Both are clearly HOF bound as both of them have put up huge offensive numbers and brought a lot to the game of baseball.

A-Rod is a power house and is on pace to become the youngest player to ever hit 500 home runs and is currently the front runner to become the all-time home run king, passing both Hank Aaron and Bonds. This plus all of his awards, gold gloves and All-Star appearances, it's no wonder why he's the highest paid player in baseball.

As for Manny, he's on track to hit well over 600 home runs and has his own share of amazing stats, awards and lets not forget a World Series ring.

I believe A Rod and Manny will both be remembered as great players and both will be in the HOF. I think Manny is the better hitter he has the sweetest swing I have ever seen and can hit to all fields...A Rod is also a good hitter (not as clutch) but with a little more power I call their defensive skills pretty even(Manny underrated) But unfortunately A Rod will be remember for his huge contracts and not ever winning a championship(yet, anyway)

Manny is the better player simply because he is in the lineup everyday. u usually dont see Manny on the bench only if he is hurt. but he is also very lazy which that is wat people look at the most. but he does play a great left field. he plays the ball of the wall quickly, has a great throwing arm, and since he plays shallow in fenway he takes away a lot of base hits. Manny also has a great swing. he can hit to any part of the field. He smashes the ball whenever he comes up to bat. he might be starting 2007 struggling but he is coming around. as for A-rod he has to much of an ego. he seems to like the media, when Manny doesn't bother with them.

A-Rod is the one that will be remembered as the best player he just saved a game for the Yankees with a homerun at the bottom of the ninth. Ramirez is an excellent player but he is not as much out there as A-Rod

For One Manny plays the outfield and Alex plays the infield.Defense wise, you can't really rate em, they play totally different positions, so that's a dumb question.Mr.April, is well, just that.He has 1 HR this last w/e against the Sox, Whoo-Hoo for him.He has no heart,no love,no nothing for the game anymore.Sorry if we bore you A-Rod.And Manny, well he plays for my team, so I think I'll go with him, even though this question is ridiculous:-)And Nat Attck up their, what are you talking about, Manny is not out thier as much as A-Rod, Manny plays everyday unless hes hurt.Duh!!!!!And way to go for A-Rod and that HR..........Whos' in first in the standings, OH YEAH Thats right, the RED SOX!!!!

Im a Yankee fan not gana lie. But im honoest about everything i know the Yanks arent doing well this year dont rub it in. I think A-Rod is by far the better player. Mannys good to gotta give him credit, hel be in the hall of fame but A-rods better. A-Rod hits for homeruns , steals bases , is a gold glove 3rd basemen and is on top on the leauge in hr. He is also pretty quiet and trys to keep the media off his back. Manny on the other hand is known for not trying or not running after balls that pass him in the outfeild , and starts fights in the organization( manny being manny). A-rod just attracts attention that not gana lie sometimes he isnt the best with. But A-rod is hands down bettwer hel die one of the best to ever play

I believe that A-Rod will be remembered as the better player because he's younger and has accomplished more at his age, and he's done this at the shortstop position. A-Rod also has a serious shot at the HR record, which would naturally mean that he'd be remembered more.

I can't see there being much debate that it will be Alex Rodriguez.
With that, comes the defensive position. Rodriguez playing shortstop or third base and playing at a gold glove level, vs. Ramirez playing a poor left field.

Ramirez will probably end with more RBIs for two reasons.
He seems to produce with men on base more than Rodriguez.
Ramirez has typically been one of only one or two big chiefs, where Rodriguez has 6 other guys in the lineup at 10 Million + and 2 of them at 20+ mil, so they better be producing.

Tough choice...I would take Manny even if his numbers are lower...as big a pain in the a** Manny is he has less baggage then A-Rod...Ideally I would take neither...that said Manny is still my favorite player...I just can't get enough of that pain in the butt.
