Benzene is a known carcinogen, or cancer-causing agent. Major soft drink companies have had documentation of benzene contamination in soft drinks since at least 1990. It was originally thought that the contamination was caused by contaminated carbon dioxide, but research has shown that benzoates and ascorbic acid or erythorbic acid can react to produce benzene. Both will rot teeth and cause weight gain if you drink too much, but flavourwise I think Pepsi leaves a better after taste and Coke is better with ice, so they have equal good points..and both contain far too much sugar unless you go for the diet brands.

I prefer diet Coke. The cancer thing on Splenda is still out.

Coke hands down is better. Coca Cola is the original, it tastes better, AND has contributed to our culture in ways Pepsi could never compete with. Read my answer on this link... there is a part that talks about Coke.
