We have a smoke alram that is connected into the electricity. Now it keeps chirping constantly all day (this started at 7:00am) Help! I feel like i'm stuck in a 24 episode!

Battery, The rule of thumb is to change it every time you set the clock backward or forward (Spring ahead, Fall back)

Either the battery added is bad too or you are not making contact to the new battery terminals. Yes you can probably disconnect the whole thing.

Yup it's the battery. The alarm can't be totally electric - it's not practical.
