I've been going to the same pool for a while, and there is this lifeguard i like. She is very pretty and we talk to each other every once in a while. I'm worried that she will say no, but should i ask her out?

She might say no, that's the way it goes sometimes. On the other hand she might say yes. I say take your chances, if it doesn't work out this time you'll find it will become easier the next time.

Why not? As a pretty lifeguard, I'm sure she has been asked out before and like you say, the worst thing that can happen is she'd say No. I would try something really casual. Stop by in the middle of the day, mention that you're going somewhere nearby for lunch and ask her if she has a break coming up and wants to come along. Invitations to go out in the middle of the day are much less aggressive than suggesting going to a bar, and if you sound like it's something you're going to do with or without her, you don't look desperate. Then pay close attention to what happens next! Does she look you straight in the eye or look away? Does she smile at you warmly or does she look a little awkward? Women communicate a lot with body language. If you happen to be close enough to touch her, try lightly touching her forearm as you make a joke. You'll learn a lot by how she responds to just a little bit of contact. If you don't get warm signals in return, take it as a No and you can go on being casual friends with no awkwardness. Good luck!

don't ask her if you see that she s just being professional. To ask someone out you have to see that they actually like you..
