52 miles all round trip to work and back. There is no public transport here. I guess the next thing will be riding the horses but they would probably die from the heat. The temp.in the afternoon here has been 101.

I love how some people say "Walk everywhere" and they probably don't, unless they're under 15yrs and/or do not work OR we can cover more (for those that like to split hairs) work literally down the street from their job/school (and that's pretty rare). Let's be more practicable, shall we?

Where I live, it's 8 miles to the nearest gas station, let alone a place to ride a bike... There are no buses that run IN my area, I'm 50 miles from work. Riding a bike, in my state, where the weather is very unprediticable, impossible.

So, I'm going to keep on the way I'm keeping on! Buy gas no matter the price - but I refuse to go to Exxon, Mobile or Shell. Look it up... you'll see why.

Since I commute 140 miles round trip I think I will stay with friends & family some days. The buses would drop me off a ways from work & I'd have to catch a second bus. Driving takes me 2 hours so the bus thing would wind up being even longer.

i am going to try not to drive as much. there is absolutely no reason for these high gas prices. gas right now could be as low as a $1.00 a gallon. the problem is that the government does not want to tap into the reserves and give us the relief we need. good luck.

No way to deal with them. I live in one of the highest priced areas (can't figure out why since I'm in the midwest). I have to get to work and to college courses. I am looking into taking classes closer to home so to save some commute. Work is not optional. I drive about 20 miles one way to work. It sucks.

Right now I am not filling the car all the way up....(over $50.00 to do so), and when I am done work, I sometimes walk to grocery and starbucks instead of driving.....they are close. And we have been playing board games a lot...me and my older son to cut down on outings. Gas is really affecting our budget. I am in sales....so my personal usage of gas I can't write off with taxes....so again, trying to cut down on unnecessary trips. And when we do go somewhere, it is a lot of somewheres. Buying more than what we need of groceries. to cut down on trips out......

I'm gonna try to cut down on unnecessary short trips, but honestly, their isn't much I can do, I live to far away from work to walk and their is like no such thing as public transportation in my rural area, so mostly I guess I'll just ***** and moan while the price meter goes up!

The UK is around $8 a gallon. It was higher during the petrol strikes not long ago. I've once paid over $12 a gallon.

It's a good job the cars do around 50 miles to a gallon.

It's hard to even fill up my tank, like before but I guess I am going to have to start carpooling for work, walking to certain places so I don't use my car and saving and cutting down on other expenses to have more cash for gas expense. How about you?

I dont have to worry about it right now cuz my cars a piece of crap and has been out of commission for almost a month. So when we need to go somewhere, my husbands friend drives us and refuses gas money.
