Best ever was Maradona. Not my favourite but the best.
Reason is Pele played in an already Great team. At 17 he was fantastic and helped Brazil win the World Cup. In 1962 he didnt play for much of it including the later games and so technically did not win it - Jimmy Greaves never won it but played in 1966 so how come Pele is regarded as winning it?
So Pele was in a great team. Maradona was not, they were good but he himself made them great and thats why Argentina won it and then in 1990 made the final with a very weak team. He also joined teams that were not great but made them great like Napoli and Barca were not great when he joined.
He also played in Europe where the standard of football was much higher - Pele played his whole career at Club level in Brazil.
Yes Maradona had his problems and yes he cheated - but he was fantastic prior to his drug taking. Georgie Best had a drink problem - people love him.
My favourite was Platini - pure class.

Best Ever no 10 has to be Maradona mainly because he pulled his team along with him (like a no 10). Pele was part of a great team, so didn't have to be such a talisman (although he was as good as maradona)
Favourite would be Zidane (who wore it sometimes)

Gary Lineker. He was great for every club he played for, always scored goals. He was amazing for us in an England shirt. Scored in friendlies and the big tournaments. He was also the perfect role model, well behaved on and off the pitch.
Why are so many people saying Maradona ????

my favourite is probably KAKA
THE BEST HAS TO BE BETWEEN pele AND maradonna AND ronaldinho.....
PELE - scored some of the greatiest goals of all time and was a ledgend in everyones heart
Ronaldinho - Had skills that match anyone in the world and can do almost anything anyone can do in terms of football
Kaka - the new ronaldinho.... say it all really !!!
