This is theoretical science, I am however looking for hard evidence.

Recently scientists have made light travel faster than the standard definition as well as other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum.

If it is possible for energy to form as a matrix conscious then that possibility could hold the prospect of traveling faster than light and thus not breaking the law of relativity.

All theories welcome.

Beki... dont be daft.

I am talking here about computer systems that exist while he components are in a state of energy. Feel free to post a decent answer.

Theoretically, tachyon energy travels in rays or beams much like light does, and travels faster than light. If harnessed, it can possibly assist in time travel at some point. Putting an artificial consciousness in a tachyon beam could make the consiousness go faster than light and even wind up getting somewhere before it left. Hard evidence of this isn't forthcoming because it isn't possible to do it yet. Now, seperating a consiousness (artificial or animal-based) from its host and making it exist as pure energy will be a trick in itself. Theoretically speaking, a person may be able to meditate and seperate but traveling as well? If they could seperate and travel, the light speed barrier would be easy to trancend. Artificial consiousness, may soon exist as energy but having the ability to decide to travel may be a stretch. No way to get any hard evidence on theoretical stuff, though. Sorry, hope this was somewhat akin to what you were looking for.

The biggest hurdle will be allowing something non-huamn to be seen as conscious. You can design the greatest computer program that gives every impression as being concious but people will deny that it really is, and that only is gives the impression of being self-aware.

As for travelling faster than light, I think that is possible these days. There are theoretical particles (gravitons) which I think travel faster than light.

Contrary to popular misconception, energy is a property that things *have* like momentum or color, not a substance that things can be made of. Your question makes as much sense as saying something is made of green. Too much Star Trek.

Follow up. My "thumbs down" illustrates just how popular the misconception is. It is often said that light is a form of energy. This is an imprecise colloquialism, however, like calling an object *with* mass "a mass" (you have a cancerous mass in your brain, sir)

Oh, absolutely. The midichlorians can travel as fast as they want. They are the backbone of the matrix consciousness of which you speak and connect us to the force that pervades the universe.

Edit: ok, fine, you want a serious answer: Scientists have NOT made light travel faster than c that I've heard of (and everybody would have heard about something like that). Since the premise fails, you can't really take seriously the rest of the question. The midichlorians, however, are perfectly willing to entertain pseudoscientific gobbledygook.
