It's absolutely, 100% normal to bleed a little after having sex during pregnancy. If you're concerned, call your OB, but your friend is right.

Its not worth the risk. If you haven't already called your OB you should do so & be completely honest about having sex. I understand you want to take your friend's advice, but unless she's a doctor & done an exam on you I would not be satisfied with that information.

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine but get let a professional tell you that.

As always, with any change, you should report to your doctor. However, with pregnancy you have increased blood flow to the pelvic region. The vessels dilate and are easily disrupted and can cause bleeding. I'm sure you are fine as long as your baby continues with active movement and you don't have any cramping. Now, that said, better call your doctor to be sure. You can never be to careful! Congrats and Good Luck on your new baby!

Yes, my wife had the same problem while she was pregnant. Our baby girl came out just fine. That may not do much for your peace of mind. A pregnant mother's peace of mind is probably just as important as the babies health. Ask a doctor if it would make you feel better, but he/she will probably tell you the same thing. It's kinda hard with pregnancy because there are so many things that can complicate it. So it's all on you, and what would make you feel better. Piece of mind is one of the most precious things we can have.

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and I have the same thing bleeding a little. Called my doctor everything is okay. There is so much blood in your body, sometimes sex can cause you to bleed.

This is true. There's a lot of circulation going on in your cervix and vagina and small irritations ( like sex! ) can cause irritation and a small amount of bleeding. Your friend is right - as long as you're not having heavy cramping, increased bleeding and the baby is still kicking on cue, you're fine.

I had this happen recently too. I was freaked out! I called the doctor's office and they told me it's completely normal. To allow a few days to go by though before having sex again.

I also brought it up with the doctor at my next visit and again was reassured that it was completely normal.

You're obviously concerned about this and just to be safe than sorry I'd address this with your OB/GYN. Not everyone is the same and no pregnancy is the same either. There's probably nothing to worry about but to put your mind at ease ask the professional. While you're there ask your OB/GYN about having sex and when not to as well.

It is perfectly normal although if you are worried you should call your OB for your own peace of mind. As for Tacky.....What idiot told you that! It is perfectly safe to have sex up until your delivery time, in fact sex is a well known and often prescribed method of self-induction towards the end of your pregnancy. I personally would not stress about this one bit.

**** I guess tacky decided not to leve his post as it is now gone, not 2 minutes later****

It is normal for a little blood after sex and exams. I would still inform your doctor and see what he wants you to do. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy
