How can a marriage work if people keep things from each other? That's a good way to build up resentment and fast.
There should be no secrets between husband and wife and you both should be working towards common goals, that includes finances.

Depending of what kind of finances did you have in mind when you ask this:)
If you are talking of pocket-money, then no, of course not.
But I think a trust based relationship means that you both should know how much debts both have, or how much savings.
If one of you decide to make a nice surprise to the spouse, then again, is different. Keep it a secret, otherwise it would not be a surprise anymore.
But a marriage is a bond that implies that you two are one... it wouldn't much of a bond if you hide bank accounts or God knows what from your wife, isn't it?:)

I would think so. If something goes wrong and your not able to handle the situation (like being at work, out of town, etc) she should have some knowledge about the finances. Plus its not "his" finances its "their" finances....it would affect her credit ratings as well as his....

Yes - once you're married, your credit rating will affect hers and vice versa. Even if you decide to have separate bank accounts, get a prenup, or otherwise split up your finances, you still need to be honest about what you have and what you owe.

Maybe to his lawyer-through his will. But I guess it all depends on the level of trust-of which if there is none, then the marriage is doomed. All his fianances? Only if she really needs to know about them- if she is well catered for, then this should be on his dying bed.

If you feel you must lie about your finances that is the same as cheating. Be honest.... always.

YES!!! You should share everything. If the relationship is not 100% open it is a recipe for failure

IF you are married then those finances aren't "yours". They are "ours"..... which means.... Yours AND hers.
Hence... a marriage.
