I dont really wear speedos, but, you should always get the kind made specifically for your car, so, the one that the auto parts store picks out for you should do it..

It all comes down to the fixings at the end of the cable. Most likely the rover will have an English thread on it. In side a female fitting. Although this depends on the year. You would need to remove the cable and look at the ends then try and match this with another.
Although all Rover will be the same most likely.

Rover Metro (built from May 1990) - essentially the same car as the later 100.

The earlier (non-Rover-badged) Metros had a different engine and gearbox, so probably used a different cable.

In a nutshell, NO! Parts for Rovers are readily available so go on, double the value of your car and buy a new one!
