Mine is Alexanderite...I love it and wish I could afford one. I hadn't heard of citrine being a birthstone. I've been a jeweler for a long time. What is your month? There may be an alternate.

Ruby and I like it. When I was a kid though I wanted emerald because both my brother and my sister are emerald and I guess I felt left out. And in Wizard of Oz, theres an Emerald City.

my birthstone is sapphire. it's okay, i guess. i've just never really been a big fan of the color blue.

the modern stones for me are pearl or moonstone the traditional stone is alexandrite and i like them especially the alexandrite
