I'm supposed to see my boyfriend on the 23rd of June and the 3rd week of August I'm going to see the gyn for the pill. I told my mom I wanted the pill for regulation, which I do, but I also want it so I don't have to be stressed out after having sex with my boyfriend. Are they able to tell if you're a virgin? Would they tell my mom?

For the person who just talked about STD's, we use condoms and spermicide, and he also pulls out. We're still going to use a condom after I get on the pill, ditch the spermicide but he's still going to pull out.

Yes, they will be able to tell that you are sexually active. but because of dr/patient confidentality, they can't tell your mother if you request that they don't tell her. Your doc will suggest that you tell your mother, but they can't make you tell her.

1. Don't take your mom for a fool, she probably knows that the possibility is there that you are looking towards protecting yourself if you have sex. Unless your periods are all over the place, or you have a disease which makes your period very very painful for you. She is probably accepting it because it's better to have a careful daughter who is looking out for herself, than one who is afraid to get what she needs and will get herself into trouble.
2. The OB/GYN is not going to know whether you are a virgin or not unless you tell her, or there are signs that you aren't such as STDs or possibly bruising (but that would be with assault, not normal sex). Or, if you had sex just before going to the appt. and still had semen inside you (don't do that!).
3. You should tell your doctor anyway, she can give you advice, and will be able to better do her job if she knows your sexual history.
4. Don't let the pill take the place of contraceptives that will protect you against STDs. (CONDOMS!) Even if your trust your boyfriend a lot, you need to know that some STDs can be unnoticed by him and yet he can still pass on to you. Some STDs are not tested for, unless symptoms are present. You don't want these either!

I hope this helps, keep viewing sex as something you should be responsible about - it's very refreshing.

Oh yeah, it's already been answered, but the doctor is not going to tell anyone about you having sex, nor will he/she judge you. The doctor will treat you as an adult.

As a parent I am not sure what they will tell or not tell.
I think the Doctor is to not say anything or tell anyone unless you want them to know.
I know my teen is seventeen and I am still dragged into the exam room with her. I have tried to ditch and they won't let me they want me there too.
Also I hope you realize the pull out method isn't' a 100 % the best bet either ...the most 100% method is NO sex, sorry everthing else is a chance that could result in pregnancy.
I know of condoms breaking and babies being born.
I am saying this to not scare the living bejeebers out of you those are the facts.
I have a child due to the pill here.
I have a child who is here my exspouse believed in the pull out method geez :P
Ok hopefully I havent' scared you here. Also if you ever feel safe to talk to your family about this please do they might surprise you and tell you they love you and want you safe.
Best wishes,
Laura

yes, your gyno will be able to tell if you are a virgin. Before you go to the gyno call the office and check their patient/ doctor confidentially protocol before you go. I am pretty sure it is always confidential but if you are a minor it may be different.

Yes, the pill is great but also use a condom with your boyfriend. If you forget to take the pill on time or skip it for a day or two it can not work. The pill will also not work if you are on medication, like allergy medication. Also use a condom.

First off, you'll have to be honest and let your doctor know sexually active. That way he (or she) will know if a pap smear is necessary. Protecting yourself from STDs is important, but preventing cervical cancer is even more important, which is why you should be honest with your doc.

I don't think they'll tell your mom. However, if you do decide to have your mom come along for the visit, be prepared when they ask you questions. I took my mom with me when I was ready to get on the pill, and the first question the doc asked me was if I was sexually active. If I was, he explained to me a pap smear would be advisable. Since I wasn't sexually active at the time of my visit, a pap smear wasn't necessary. Hope this helps!

As with any birth control nothing is 100% so you need additional protection. You can also see your family doctor before the 23rd of June. And to note, the pill, although you will be on it,you are not protected for 6 weeks.Ask your doctor about the morning after pill.If you aren't fully protected don't have sex is my best advise.

Are you under 18? Hippa laws (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) require patient confidentially, however if you are not of legal age, and under the Hipa act as a minor under the age of 18 interagency disclosure is exempted from these restrictions if it is within the legitimate educational interest of the minor. Which means they can tell your parents anything they want if they feel it is in your best interest. I would ask your doctor to not mention it and then on your own talk with your mom, as your father will kill you after he beats the everliving crap out of your boyfriend first. If your dont want them to know....dont do it. SImple solution to a simple problem.

WELL FIRST OFF PULLING OUT DOESN'T REALLY WORK. I GOT PREGANT TWICE FROM DOING THAT. KIDS ARE 2 YRS APART. I GOT FIXED 3 YRS AGO. SO BE CAREFUL SOONER OR LATER THAT WONT WORK!!

NO FOR THE DOC APPT THEY CANT TELL YOUR MOM ANYTHING. ITS PATIENT DOCTOR REGULATIONS.

BUT HE CAN STILL PROVIDE WITH WITH SOME BIRTH CONTROL.

BUT HE WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU NEED TO TALK TO YOUR MOM.

AND THEY CAN ONLY TELL IF YOUR A VIRGIN IF YOU GET A PAP TEST DONE WITCH YOU WILL NEED ALSO SINCE YOUR HAVING SEX FOR DISEASES AND TO CHECK YOUR PELVIC FOR ANY PELVIC CANCER YOU MIGHT GET NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.

THEY HAVE A PILL NOW THAT YOU CAN TAKE AS EARLY AS 10 FOR THE PREVENTION OF PELVIC CANCER. ASK THEM ABOUT IT ALSO.

THAT THE REAL REASON YOU HAVE TO GET IT DONE ONCE SEXUALLY ACTIVE. SO GET IT EVEN IF YOUR BOYFRIEND IS CLEAN DOESN'T MATTER.

GOOD LUCK

No, not at all. Your doctor has to abide by doctor/patient confidentiality and HIPPA which protects your medical information. Only with your permission can they tell them anything. They can't really tell if you're a virgin per se. They can see if your hymen is broken, but many girls don't have hymens. They're so thin that riding your bike, horseback riding, a hard fall can make it break. However, you should be very honest with them. They can't really treat you properly unless you're honest and they won't tell your parents.

Pulling out- does not work...."pre c-u-m" will still get you pregnant and so will SKIPPING or forgetting a pill.
Sit in with your doc and let him know you don't want him to tell your mom.
I really don't think you should stop the condoms, because of diseases, you guys are probably young and you never know if he is going to cheat and bring you something...love yourself keep the condoms.

They really should not be telling your mom such information.

Your mom wasn't born yesterday, and believe it or not, young people did not invent sex. I can't think that anybody would actually believe you are on the pill for "regulation".

If you are having sex with somebody you are not married to, you should be using protection if you don't want to catch something that will never go away.
