The largest danger from global warming is that it will shift
rain patterns, causing dessication in areas that are currently
used as farmland.
The second largest danger is from the rise in sea level.
It can potentially rise more than 50 feet, which can cause
major flooding in low-lying areas.

Climate change is a fact of history.
The Vikings had settlements in Greenland where they rose crops and livestock. Now it is one big iceburg.
That was over a thousand years ago.
Our greenhouse emissions may make some slight difference in the changes that are naturally occuring, but most scientists agree that human activity cannot influence the change by more than 8% to 10%. Assuming the change is 2 deg. C., if we were to return to the days of the cave man we could only reduce the warming climate change by a maximum of 0.2 deg. C., Cave men heated with burning wood which is far more polluting.
Since the population of the earth is now much higher, we could only accomplish that by killing off 90% or more of the worlds population.
Since that is impractical, the best option is to conserve resources, move population centers away from dangerous coastal areas and develop new technologies.
If anyone in position of power and influence really believed in global warming, they would be buying up the cheap land in northern Canada right now.

It's like college these days...everybody is getting into it because it's the cool thing to do. Whatever, I don't really buy it. However, there is no reason to be wasteful, you know?
