Did he go to the doctor ?
Don't eat a lot of solids for two days until all the bad food is out of his system. It will irritate his stomach. Lots of liquids like chicken noodle soup or the beef broth, but only very small amounts at a time. Stick to 7up or Sprite. Try and stay away for sugary drinks like gatorade, plus milk. Not to be gross, but I imagine he has diarrhea, so sugary drinks and heavy foods will only make the diarrhea worse. Eat dry saltine crackers, small amounts of bread.
Small amounts of stuff at a time or his stomach will rebel. :)
If he is not feeling better within 48 hours, then go to the doctor. Most doctors send you home anyway and say if you're not feeling better in a coupe of days to come back. Not much they can do. It has to run its course. 95 % of the time, your body takes care of everything in about 2 days.

Food poisoning can be very dangerous , I lost a good friend who actually died from eating some bad potato salad . If it doesn't go away in a day or worsens I would get checked out . Lots of liquids such as the 7 up may help flush out his system in the mean time as you monitor his condition .

If he feels vomiting sick, I think he should be sick. He needs to get rid of the toxins in him. Peptobismol could also help the drowsiness and the intestinal discomfort due to the acid in his stomach, but it is not going to cure him. DO NOT give him 7up or any fizzy drink, as they are acidic and they will do worse!
The best he can do is not to eat until he feels like it, rest (sleep) and give his body the time to recover.
You could hold his hand, but there is not much else to do.....

warm ginger ale works better than 7up. Not a whole lot you can do. He may need a prescription anti-nausea pill keep an eye on him so he doesn't get dehydrated.

You can try to cipher the food poisoning out of him....it might take a lot of work and determination....but I'm sure he would appreciate your effort.
