Twice this week our neighbors dogs have gotten out, and last night I had three neighborhood children come running into my house in fear because this dog chased them and was trying to bite them. This dog has to be about 110lbs German Sheppard. Normally I would go to the neighbor with the dogs and tell them, they got out again. This time he was aggressive towards me!

Another neighbor called animal control and when they arrived, the dog was in the owners front yard, and apparently there was nothing to do, because the dog was on his property.

This is NOT the first time that this dog has gotten loose.
He has been very aggressive to other neighbors and their pets.
The owner just says, "ohhhhhhhhhhh, he got out again?"
One neighbor went to shoot it because it charged at him.

What would you do?

Just keep calling the cops and animal control every time, and get the neighbours to do the same and here are the magic words "there are children in danger". We used to have to call when I lived in a different neighbourhood for other problems and we would just get "yeah yeah" until my husband one day said "and it's 10 feet away from a playground full of kids"

I don't know where you are from but where I stay you can choose to Sue them, their dogs aren't fixed either this can be dangerous they may have rabies or something just NEVER go over there UNLESS your neighbors are out and the worrying about the children, the dogs are probably just being protective because thats what they are known for I don't think they will hurt their owners if they are good dogs but your neighbors do need to watch their children if they are that young because dogs also can get a little jealous of kids those ages you gave!

We had this same problem in our neighborhood with a pit bull, however this pit bull had previously attacked our neighbors dog and bit our neighbor and a couple years later ended up killing my cat! I absolutely hate this dog and guess what, it's still alive after all that and still getting loose.

Just make sure every single time you see that dog loose you call the warden......and if other people in the neighborhood are worried about it too then make sure they do. If it comes for more than one person, it's more likely that something will get done. I'm sure the parents of those neighborhood kids would be happy to call! GOOD LUCK! Hopefully something will get done before something bad happens!

Everytime the dog gets out call the cops. In some cities if the cops are called a certain number of times the dog is taken into custody and put to sleep. I would warn the neighbor their dog's life is in jeopardy. Call your local animal control and find out what the laws are and what you can do as a concerned citizen.

I would call the police! I don't go for walks sometimes because of our neighbors FREAK dogs. They are little, but bites still hurt. We would carry around a water bottle to scare them off.

Your neighbor should make sure that dog doesn't get out, whether they think they'll bite or not. They need to leash the dog when they take it for walks, or let him out to potty. If it's a fence issue, they should fix the fence.

No kid should live in terror in their own neighborhood! BEEN THERE!

Well - I'd call the police and say this dog is loose again or if you like the neighbor call them?

We have 3 labs. Our electric fence is broken. We have woods but the house behind us has two dogs that often come close to our yard. Our dogs chase them and the owners of the dogs get bent out of shape. This morning they did call us to say our dog was in their yard (she wasn't) but she was close.
It's civil and that is nice but if our dogs were causing fear on children I'd do a heck of a job to protect them and my pet.

i would call the cops everytime the dog got loose. make yourself a pain in the butt to both the neighbors and the law enforcement. most cities have leash laws. you would think they would eventually be cited.

You could video-record what the dog does and use it as proof if it continues to happen.
