so far ottawa has gone with shooting the puck on net as their game plan. the play has been fast enough, but ottawa has shown little puck control in the offensive zone. they are not working the puck in the corners, nor are they passing the puck effectively on power plays.
turning the puck over is very costly to them.
Ottawa might pull off another win, but winning threee straight is most unlikely.
go sens go!

people, it is no accident that Anaheim is up 3-1. they're a puck control team, and they've been tailored to 1) adapt their defense, 2) make the most of opportunities that present themself from the other team, 3) win the Cup.

this is their style. that's how they beat the Wild, Canucks, Wings, and soon the Sens. since they're not perfect, you can steal a game ... maybe two. but the fact that Ottawa's top line is struggling tells me that it's not a lack of play on Ottawa's part. it's just that .... are you ready for this little secret? ...

THE DUCKS ARE REALLY GOOD!

They'll win it the same way they won all those other games in the finals; by being stopped up by the big Ducks defenders. Oh wait, they've lost most of the series that way. Look for that trend to continue, seeing as the Ducks will now have control over final changes. The only reason Ottawa was able to win was because they didn't have the Alfie line matched against the Pahlsson line. Expect for those two line to be aligned while playing at the Pond.

bailey~ they may be the same review officials in Anaheim, but they're in a different city. Many times, the desire of the crowd at the arena is appeased through such decisions. If that had happened in Anaheim, Toronto probably would have ruled no goal.

If Ottawa plays the same way they've played against Buffalo.

They dominated the 'best' team in the east with little difficulty. Also were able to pull 3 straight wins in each of the previous three series.

Besides, every game has been close. Every game is anybody's game. If Ottawa wins Wednesday, the series will truly be up for grabs again.

By watching a tape of Game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals, when the Devils treated Jean-Sebastien Giguere like a toy. Then do the same. Throw in the kind of cheap shot that Daniel Alfredsson loves, giving the lie to Don Cherry's claim that Europeans don't do rough stuff. And let Ray Emery be what Martin Brodeur was in '03, the best goalie on the ice and more deserving of the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Senators stave off elimination.

Then they just have to do it again in Game 6.

Then they just have to do it again in Game 7.

Forget about winning three straight. Just win one. Get that done. Then just win one more. Get that done. Then just win one more. That's how you gotta think about it.

They DIDN'T win game 5 because they only showed up for the first period... same problems... giveaways, poor passing, less physical than the Ducks, bad rebound control by Emery... their errors caught up with them last night.

They could have won, but decided to sit on their laurels for almost the rest of the game. They don't deserve the Cup. They are still showing they don't have the grit to go all the way. The Ducks want it more, and they ARE going to take it.

they will have to find a better way to keep control in the zone and take the lead early. if they have the lead in the third pronger will get frustrated and will become a factor in the sens favor. We need to pass more and totally confuse the heck out of gigurre. They need to draw penalties on nidermayer, he gets them easier then u think. if they can do that, like they did in game 3, they can win 5 and 6, but idk if that will owrk in 7

oo and jon, heatly never kicked in a goal. that was alffy that had it go off his skate. and they have the same ppl in anaheim, dummy

They can't; even with their top line scoring goals now, they still can't beat the Ducks. Defense wins championships, and the Ducks are proving that this year.

There is nothing more the Sens can do: Emery is playing the best he can, their top line is scoring, and they are finishing their checks. It boils down to the simple fact the Anaheim is stronger, better, and more disciplined.

I do not think Ottawa is going to win game five. The games have been close so anything is possible but I think Anaheim is looking to close this one out at home...

That's called punishment for hard work and effort. Makes you want to push yourself to the limit, doesn't it? I despise such a ruling, it crushes the human spirit and punishes people for honing and enjoying their talents. I would never live in a country like that; I am worried that United States maybe moving in that direction. In the real world, we have winners and losers. In life, we belong to either group at one time or another.
