Al Pacino is probably my all-time favorite actor. His performances in The Godfather saga, Dog Day Afternoon, Heat, Scarface, and Scent of a Woman are just tremendous. Insomania's a great role for him as well. Currently I'd go with Jake Gyllenhaal or Leo DiCaprio. Don't scoff. Leo was amazing in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Departed, Gangs of New York, Blood Diamond and the Basketball Diaries. Jake G is amazing in Donnie Darko, Zodiac, Jarhead, The Good Girl and Brokeback Mountain, and he has comedic ability, as shown in Bubble Boy and Highway.

Diane Lane, when she played Connie Sumner in Unfaithful (2002), simply sizzling hot!
It's not so much the looks as it is her very essense in this movie, she exudes a sexuality which I've just not seen anywhere else. There's a wonderful knee trembling moment but I don't want to ruin it for others whom may not have seen it yet :-)
