Man (25 years old) thinks that the landlord sends a "reminder" in the mail each month when rent is due,absurd?
His first time living on his own, with girlfriend, he says to her, "How am I supposed to know when the rent is due, doesn't the landlord send you a reminder every month?" She pays rent every month and has to ask him 3 times the week it is due.
Complete idiot, or very sheltered life?

probably sheltered life, some landlords give you the date the rent is due, like the first of the month for starters

I always wait for a phone call or two before I pay the rent. That way you keep a healthy balance of power. I will tell my landlord I don't have the rent and have it in my pocket while i am saying it. It is a lot easier that way. I send him a reminder of when he might get the rent.

Tell them to mark (the 3rd or whatever date) on a calender,then check it 3 times a week if necessary.
