I am 36 wks preg and I am so exhausted. I have not slept more then 1 to 2 hours at a time no more then 3 hours a night because my body is in constant pain from contracting. My cervix is not opening as it didn't with my other two children. My Dr. refuses to deliver this baby. I was on pagesterone during the begining of my pregnancy and the trabutaline later. My dr wants me to go to 38 wks she says she will not deliver this baby before then. When I go in labor she gives me meds to stop the contraction but they only work for the time being. I am only dilated 1/2cm and effaced 25% she wants me to get to 4cm and 50% even though I am getting another c-section. My body aches all the time and I don't have any energy for my other children. Should I get a second opinion from another Dr. My husband said that we should go to another hospital and see what they say. I don't know what to do. My other children were completely fine when they were born and still are so I know this baby is OK to be born.

Finding another OB to take you this late in the pregnancy will be hard. I think your husband is right to go to another hospital--make sure it is one that your current OB doesn't have privledges at. They may refuse to take you or just send you back to your normal hospital but it's worth a try. Good luck!

No, you don't know that this baby will be fine. They don't deliver this early for a reason. If the dates are off by even a week, it could make a world of difference. Aches and pains are 100% normal. From the sounds of it, your body and baby are not ready to be done with this pregnancy. The end is VERY close. I carried my twins to just shy of 36 wks. Even with steroid injections to ensure lung maturity, they still had a couple issues. If you go somewhere else, you'll get the same answers. At 1/2 cm dilated and 25% effaced and 36 wks, no one will deliver your baby. There just isn't a medical reason to. I know it doesn't help you at all, but everyone is miserable at the end. Just try to keep in mind its best for the baby. Best of luck.

i understand where you are coming from, i wish i could be done too and im 37 weeks 3 days. First off, considering you are only 36 weeks you are not full term. Think of it this way, your Dr also has to protect herself. IF she delivered your child at 35 1/2weeks-36 weeks, and something DID go seriously wrong, who's going to protect her? She cant just deliver you because you are uncomfortable. Though i wish OB's could!! I know how you feel. Im a stay at home mom of 4 boys and im 37 weeks 3 days with boy 5. Im exhausted as well. Im constantly running running running, i dont sleep well at all. Usually about 3 hours a night. But try to hang in there you dont have much further to go. Its best for your baby. And besides lungs in babies arent usually developed until 37-38 weeks. My son was born at 36 weeks and was completly healthy and my youngest was born at 35 weeks 5 days and was in the nicu for 2 weeks on breathing machines because his lungs were not developed. Sometimes you just never know. Just because two of your children were healthy doesnt mean they will all be. Pregnancies differ and so do babies.

I'm in the exact same position. But I'm 37 weeks. Unless the baby is in danger they will not deliver him, so you have to wait. I'm seeing an ob and a high risk specialist and they have a c-sections scheduled for me next week. Just hold on! You can go to another hospital, but they won't do anything without orders from your doctor.

I would get a second opinion for sure; what harm could it do. At the least they could send you home with some sleep medication and pain relief. Your baby should be fine to come out now. At 36wks its considered a normal pregnancy.

Taking some thing like castor oil is fairly like including insult to break once you're in labour. there is not any longer something worse than having diarrhia cramps and labour pains alongside with it!!! yet once you think of you're able to do it, each and every of the greater means to ya!!! :D lol Do a lot of strolling...that could help. And confident, having intercourse...and maximum heavily, an orgasm(because of the fact it makes the uterus settlement) can help labour alongside too. don't have intercourse if your water has broken!!! sturdy luck!!!

sounds odd BUt
most other OB Mds will not take on a case at this late date in the pregnancy ( fear of a lawsuit with not enough medical history info)

go to the ER of the hospital you are scheduled to deliver at and let the OB resident review your case and present condition

sounds a bit odd to be honest - and I would ask for a 2nd opinion.
at 35 weeks your baby is viable and should be fine to come out now.
Normally they would give you pills to stop contractions NOW if they didnt want you having them so the fact they are actively leaving you, doesnt sound right. Or at least have you in hospital so you could be monitored.
