No, it's never too late to show somebody that you're thinking of them. Check the hospital's policy to make sure you can send fresh flowers (some places allow, some don't). It should be fine and he'll appreciate it. Showing up and offering him your support is an option, too.. that is, if he's comfortable right now accepting visitors after going through something traumatic.

The best thing to send would be, of course, you. Go and VISIT him!!! BRING him the dang flowers, and cheer him up! He needs a lot of friendship right now, and if you don't get your butt over there right now, what is he going to think of the friend who never showed up at his side when he needed him/her the most???

Flowers are anice gesture but there are other things guys like better. He is not only very traumatized but he is lso bored but also need things to take his mind off of things. Try tp put together a care package of things a guy would like, Oreo cookies, Suduko books, word puzzles, cross word puzzles, a CD he likes, playing cards, paperand colored markers. Use your imagination. It is great you are concerned but sho him you are concerned. Take him the basket in person.
