I am getting ready to put up one of those pools that holds about 5,000 gallons of water. It is 16ft by 4ft deep. The place where I want to put the pull I believe is where the fill lines from the septic tank run from. Will this crush or damage the lines if I place the pool on top of it?

If your refering to the lateral lines that are there to dissipate the nastiness from the septic tanks then do not put the pool on top for 2 reasons, neither of which has anything to do with crushing the lines
1. The lines that are in the ground are perforated to allow the excess water from the septic tanks to leech up to the surface and evaporate. Hence the green stripes of really green grass over them. By putting the pool over the lines you are cutting down on the overall evaporative area and may cause your system to backup.
2. Its nasty and it stinks, literally.
Find a different spot or spend some bucks to get a licenced septic installer to review your situation.

It is not advisable to put anything over the lines. Since the pool will cover a large area (spreading out the weight) it is not so much the weight crushing the lines but could cause problems if you need maintenance done on the lines. Having to dump and remove a pool is not something I would want to do. Murphys law: If it CAN happen, it WILL.

Play it safe and talk to the people that put the Septic system in. If you can't talk to them, talk to Septic Installers .

You are asking for trouble if the septic lines are not too deep.

Get some answers from the Septic pros not the Pool sellers.
