My son is on a baseball team and this is the first year they have used pitching machines. The balls are pitched at 45 MPH, so needless to say, nobody wanted to play the catcher. We have one little boy who stepped up and volunteered for this position. He has really taken a beating for the team. He has gotten hit with the ball so many times that I feel sory for him. I would like to get him something to show everyone's gratitude to him for taking on this responsibility. I thought about getting him an airrushed T-Shirt with a cute slogan or something. Any ideas?

get him a baseball signed by all the players on the team and get him a little trophy. He'll enjoy that.

Since he was the only one to volunteer for the position, I would award him for it. I would get him a T-Shirt that says "Defensive Player of the Year". I think that would be more appropriate than "MVP" because there could have been some kids on the team that were great offensively. This way, he still gets recognition and not all the players are mad or jealous.

Get another little cheap trophy that says star player or MVP, or you could make him a certificate. I would talk to the coach because he might have something planned
