Shouldn't he be the best authority on the subject today?

He is right. Study after study has shown that eventually the subject will say whatever he thinks you want to hear just to get it to stop. They'll confess to crimes that weren't even committed.

Well some people would rat out their mother to get a reduced sentence .
The problem with terrorists is they now know that getting out is not an option any longer .
SO negotiation and torture is a waste of time . Gather them all on a field and say the first 5 to give up accurate information receive these wonderful virgins . We get the virgins from Middle East nations . This will break them .

He is correct. By the way, during the late stages of the Vietnam War, the defense department allowed U.S. servicemen to say anything to their captors in hopes of receiving less torture. Torture is a gutless and undefendable use of force perverted and inhumaine that must be stopped immediately.

He should be an authority on it and if he is against it, why isn't he doing something about the torture that is condoned by the administration?

agreed. usually those being tortured know very little or their info is out-of-date so they say what their torturers want to hear just to make the pain stop.

If it isn't effective then why has it been in use for thousands of years? I don't believe him and I don't think he believes it. I detest it and the people who use it but I have no doubt that it works.
