Pardon the pun, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to diagnose strep throat. I've had it quite a few times over my life and know that's what I have. I have no medical coverage and called a local medical clinic to find their fee's are even high.
Unfortunatly, I've have had this sore throat since Friday. My ears are killing me now and I still can't eat or swallow my spit (sorry). I feel better as a whole, but my head...my throat, it's not getting any better and now the ears. I need antibiotics. Is there anyway around that? Or any strep ideas that you know about would be greatly appreciated. I've lost 6 pounds since Friday. I feel wiped out. Please don't tell me to just go to the doctor, we can't afford it. Any antibiotic suggestions? Any home treatment ideas? Anything!???

I'm in Georgia. Nice thought about going to Mexico, though. Thanks.

That's why I like to live in Europe where medical care is free or you pay a symbolic amount most of the time refund at 80-100 %.

It's possible to buy drugs online. You can find generic Penicillin from those companies. I have not tried them as of yet but they do offer cheaper prices and rush deliveries. Just type in penicillin and look at the places and make an informed decision. Just make sure to get that fixed because strep can be very dangerous if untreated for a long period of time. I found antibiotics on websites but the trust factor is up to you.

Also if you know someone with a lenient DR they may just sign a prescription after hearing of the problem. I know I got Nexium from my GF and also can get Antibiotics.

Whoever suggested Mexico is also correct. I believe Canada does the same if you are close to either.

Im not sure where you live at, but if the mexico border is close to you, you can buy antibiotics at thier pharmarcy with out a prescription and it is legal to bring back across the U.S. they will even guide you as to what antibiotics that you need for your strep throat.
Hope this helps.
good. luck.

My suggestion is to go to your local drug store and talk to the pharmacist about your situation. The pharmacist may be able to recommend a medicine that doesn't require a doctor's prescription. This way it will not cost you any money. I understand what it's like not to be able to afford to go to the doctor. Take vitamin C, in powdered form, 1,000mg three times daily. This will help the body fight the infection.
