I'm not a doctor so I would ask you OBGYN to be safe. But I asked the same question after having my daughter in 2003 and he told me that it would be best to wait 18 months.

I get a chuckle out of reading responses from some people, it seems like alot of people just make things up. Anyway....you should give your body 12 months to heal itself before becoming pregnant again. It is best to wait that long, however, if you got pregnant right away, you could still have a healthy baby, it is just not medically reccomended. I am an ob-gyn medical student. Good luck! Your brave if you want another baby this soon!

my kids are 13 months apart and they were both c-section. No it is not really healthy to piggy-back your pregnancies, especially c-section. Your body needs 12 months to heal internally and externally and you compromise your health by getting pregnant again so soon b/c of the stress you'll be putting on the incision. My second scar is very unattractive, crooked, and thick b/c they had to go over a nasty scar from the first time. I was dumb enough to not use protection the second time and got pregnant again. I wouldn't trade him for the world but it wasn't easy. You risk ripping the incision. If you are not pregnant yet please wait. If you are, take it easy. Good luck.

According to the website babycenter.com (great site, I use it all the time- link below), experts suggest waiting 18-23 months for either c-section or vaginal birth. They cite increased risk of complications if you conceive less than 6 months after birth. Also mentally it's hard when you're just getting over the first birth.

Having said that, my sister was born 18 months after I was, meaning she was conceived around 9 months after my mom had me (not C-section though). I think it's common for women to have kids less than 2 years apart. i think as long as you talk to your Ob and get their advice you probably don't have to wait that long, but since you just had your baby in late April I would suggest waiting at least 6 months before you think about it.

It all depends on the complications (or lack there of) of your previous section. Your doctor will be able to advise you in this department. Talk to them. Healing from a c-section happens mostly in the for 6 weeks after the surgery. A pregnancy will not compromise your scar tissue.

Talk to your doctor about having another baby so soon if this is what you and your significant other are set on.

Really you can have babies as close together or as far apart as you want them. You would still have another 9 months before the baby would be born. I have 2 babies and they are 10 1/2 months apart. Both born full term. Talk to your dr though. The site below isn't medical but it is a forum from other mothers that have had c-sections and had their babies close together. good luck

You shouldn't become pregnant again for at least 18 months after having a C-section.

Hello, ok so im not offering advice just giving you some links to some pages i came across.. Good Luck!! =)

http://www.babycenter.com/expert/preconception/gettingpregnant/1334487.html

"How soon is it safe to get pregnant again?
Standard recommended pregnancy spacing (stated by this article to be at least 18 months but less than 60 months) should still apply for how long you wait after your c-section. "

hope this helps

Some will say give it 18 months at least but I would advise 3 years.

ask your doctor. my sister in law got pregnant with my niece within 6 weeks of having my nephew, by accident of course. anyways with the last baby her uterus ruptured early and she had to have an emergency c section and tubes tied, the doc said it was b/c she got pregnant too quickly and her body had not had time to heal. so be careful
