I love to look for vintage clothing at he garage sales. I think a lot of the sellers don't think they'll ever sell the vintage clothing, and are always amused when I am so interested in it. I love to try it on right there on the spot and have bought many vintage dresses, corsetts and lovely blouses with lots of ruffles. I always like to find a novelty items like pet rocks and the wild exercise equipment from the 80s. Have you ever seen one of those massage belts that is electric and you stand on the platform to jiggle your waistline away? With respect to what things I would never buy at a garage sale it is probably Tupperware or other plastic kitchen type storage containers. It's amazing how many people try to sell that kind of stuff. The funniest thing I've ever seen that people try to sell is underwear. I went to one garage sale that advertised vintage clothing. I learned that the wife had died, and the husband was trying to sell all of her clothing including her bras and panties.

I love Garage Sales.....

I buy most of my kid's clothes there. I bought about 30 Barbie dolls for $3 and sold them on eBay for $40. I would never buy underwear at a garage sale.

But I love to look for baby stuff, books, and decorative stuff

Nope. I haven't been to a garage sale in years. Nothing I ever find is of value anyways. So I just stopped going.

I love them.
I buy kids clothes, because mine outgrow them so fast. It's an inexpensive way to get them. (only in good condition of course)

Books - for me

I collect antique Pepsi items, and have found some of those at garage sales.

LOVE them.
I buy cd's, dvd's, old cameras, old books, toys, paintings.
I don't buy wearables, I'm a germaphobe and it just makes me uncomfortable.
My best purchase was a huge beveled mirror with a hand carved thick wood frame. It was priced at $200, I walked in when they were done and she was donating the items, I bought it for $7!!!!!

I used to like it. I got some really cool Smurf beanbags one time.
I'm too old and lazy now. I like to sleep in and then watch them on TV on those awful shows. Quality weekends.
