Robert E. Lee was a NOT a UNION general (he was a Confederate general), but you are reflecting ANDREW E. Lee.

mcclellan and sherman ARE Union generals.

But, hey, abraham lincoln and thaddeus stevens were politicians and not generals.

Andrew E. Lee was the governor of South Dakota from 1897-1901. Not a Union General.
Abraham Lincoln was President of the United States from 1861-1865, not a Union general, but by the constitution Commander in Chief of the Army of the Republic.
Thaddeus Stevens was a US Congressman from Pennsylvania from 1849-1853 and 1859-1868. Not a Union General.
George McClellan was a Union Major General, in command of the Union Army early in the war, but later replaced.
William T. Sherman was a Union Major General, in command of the western theater.

You would be correct if you meant Robert E. Lee. Lincoln was president, I forget Thaddeus Stevens. But both Grant and Sherman were union Generals. McClellan, unfortunately, led the Union army of the Potomac until, thank God he was relieved of command after the battle of Antietam.

ok andrew e lee wasnt a gerneral at all infact he was just a child when the civil war was going on. andrew e lee was born in 1847 and he was the governor of south dakota and was a buinessman. abraham lincoln was the commander and cheif of the civil of the union side so in a sense he was higher than a general. thaddeus stevens was a polotician in the 1860's he helped push the emancipation for black people and wanted to impeach the president johnson. sherman burned half the south and he was not a general of the union army either but he was a top notch guy and McClellan was a complete failure. he wasnt in the union general either. he served under general grant and was a failure because he couldnt hold his ground and ran from general robert e lee who was the main general for the conferderate army. you need to get your facts straight my dear. i hope this helps you
