My toilet.?

Lovely intro right?

When I flush it, it will continue to fill up and flush like 7 or 8 times before it finally shuts off,

It isn't like it has LOADS of stuff to flush down or anything.....simple pee.....8 flushes.

Is my toilet possessed or is there a simple way to fix this problem?

Ugh. So this means I am going to have to take the lid off the back, and put my hands in there, and fidde with this flapper? NOT looking forward to that, I have another bathroom, I may just use that one for a while. I have to cut back on the water waste with 8 flushes.....every time.....and YES...even just pee.....(not medical.....that was funny)

It's the flapper. Remove the tank lid and watch as you flush the toilet. The flapper is bouncing up and staying open instead of closing and allowing the tank to refill. May need a new flapper or adjustment of the chain/strap that lifts it when you flush.

Sounds like the flapper valve is either bad or most likely, sticking. A new flapper valve will help. The flapper valve is that rubber flapping thing on the bottom of the toilet tank in the center. It gets yanked open by a chain when you pull down on the flusher and if it sticks open (up) for a while, the toilet will do that flushing repeatedly thing. OF course, if you havent been making payments on that toilet, it may not be posessed as much as it may be repossessed.

Simple pee? 8 flushes? Are you sure its not a medical problem?

That sounds like the flush valve is bad.Try that and it will be fine.You can buy the part at any hardware or plumbing facility for about $15-20US dollars.
