No your not late. I'm 11 and I got mine...I thot I was early but no everyone gets them at different times. If you start to find yellowish smears in your underwear it may be coming fairly soon. You have do have a bundle of pubic hair before, though, and your breasts need to have started develloping, and you need to have some hair under your arms. If you have all that, then it should be fairly soon.

This is an article from http://www.beinggirl.com that might make you feel better and give you some information. And also, it's fine, you're completely normal.
Why don't I have my period yet (age 15)
Dear Iris,
I am fifteen years old and haven't gotten my period yet. All of my friends have their periods. My doctor said that if I don't get it before the end of the year I should come back to his office. I am really worried that he's going to say some bad like I won't be able to ever get it. I also get that discharge in my underwear everyday. I also have tried to figure out how to put a tampon in just in case my period ever does happen but I cannot figure it out! Your help would be greatly appreciated to me!
Laura
Dear Laura,
Maturation is genetically determined, although your environment plays a role. Even though the average age of menstruation is 12 1/2 some girls do not mature until they are 15 or 16...and this is NORMAL. I know (from experience and I had two children!) how hard it is to be a "late bloomer"...but there has to be someone who is the last girl to get her period! In a way it is good to be a late bloomer...you may end up being taller and slimmer than your friends...and could be a good thing!
For more information on menstruation, go to BeingGirl.com's Menstruation section
Hope that the article helped! From beinggirl.com, a great website!! Check it out if you want more advice on things like this.
Good luck!! :-)
*Nicky

No, everyone is different. Ask your mom when she started hers. While it is not an exact indicator it can give you a general idea. If mom started later in her teens there is a chance you will to, but if mom started early don't stress it. In the end you will get it. I know girls that started at 10 (real young) and girls that didn't start until 18 (a bit older). A lot depends on your own body. If you are athletic it might take longer as well. In the end, just enjoy life and don't worry about something that you have no control over. :)

Relax! It is going to come when your body feels has already mature enough. It differs from person to person!!! Sometimes it depends on how you weight. Usually a few weeks before it comes for the 1st time u get a little weight which u loose when u have period.
I know 3 friends of mine who dad their first time at 9 years old (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
And mine was 12-13 somewhere and my moms was 15-16!!!!!
Another friend at hight school had it 16 and the best friend of mine had this "fist shock"(lol) at 11!
So what i mean? Just don't be stressed because you make it come later. Relax and don't care it's not a big deal! After you have it you'll start get bored with it (every month...pfff...) ;-) lol

I am a guy. But, an expert in medical situations. Girls can start their periods as early as 10 years old (rare) up to 15 years old! It comes when you least expect it..but, you will know when it happens. It can be an emotional time too. I hope you have a very close mother. Cause she is the best to talk to about it.

Although I am a guy I think I can answer this... Well in my class there are two girls who had their first period when they where 15 years old.. Also my girlfriend had it when she was 14.. So don't be worried I think 13 is the proper age. Also if you are not embarassed you can ask your mom when she had hers because your first period sometimes depend on genes.

I don't think so. When I as growing up the average age to start menstruating was 14 or 15 - I know it's earlier now, but I still don't think you're late. Every woman is different. Besides, it's a pain and I would love to get rid of it! Enjoy your freedom while you can!

Not at all! Anything between 10 and 15 is normal, with 12-13 being fairly typical. It should happen sooner than you think.

No you're not late I'm sure you can expect it any day now. I think if you reach 15 or 16 any you still haven't got it then you need to check out why but meanwhile enjoy your period free life cuz you're going to have for a long, long time
