I got into a debate with my classmates lately on which one is MORE expensive between Mercury & Diamond. It'll be nice if anyone of u could add other usefull details about the 2 things

I would have to say that Diamond is more expensive than mercury - although diamonds aren't really as rare as people think - thats just De Beers marketing their monopoly of the situation.

Mercury used to be commonly used in thermometers and also used to be used in filling in dentistry.

In both rarity and monetary value Diamonds are worth more.

How can there be a debate? Dentists use mercury amalgam for back teeth fillings all the time. How much does a filling cost? How much does an engagement ring cost?
