Usually they do not perform an ultrasound until 16-20 weeks. Are you scheduled for one at this next appointment? Because they typically don't do it at your regular appointment.
14 weeks is probably a bit too early yet to tell.

wow.. unless Im missing something it seems your doctor isnt the most enthusiastic or encouraging. Im assuming youve been for blood tests and had an ultrasound? If theres no other problem than pcos then there is no reason why you wouldnt be able to conceive; with or without meds. First off; are you overweight? If like most women with pcos (like me) you are overweight; then losing between 5 - 10 percent of your weight can very often (statistically) bring on more regular ovulations and periods. The best diet is low gi because it helps the insulin resistance that is the root of pcos. Going for a half hour walk every day helps with the insulin problems too. Even if diet and exercise didnt help; Ive read so many women who have conceived after a few months on metformin; and even more on clomid and metformin. Ive been diagnosed with pcos for 5 years now; so if you want to chat or know anything more; just email me ok. Hope this makes you feel a bit better. EDIT; Im not on metformin but Im trying to eat healthily and start losing the excess weight because when I used to be slimmer my periods were more regular. Are you slim already?

You might be lucky, but usually you can't really tell until 18 to 20 weeks. The baby firstly has to be in the right position for the operator to see - they don't always co-operate! Also, if they look too early they may be inaccurate as the sex organs may not be as visible at 14 weeks as they will be later. Good luck!!

There's a good chance your Dr will be able to tell on Tuesday. If not there's a better chance at 20 weeks

The baby's genitals are developed by the 15th week, however you won't be able to determine the sex until the 20 week mark...sometimes the 22nd week. Even with the ultrasound conclusions, keep in mind that they still aren't 100% accurate.

Most of the time they can tell what you are having after 20 weeks sometimes a little early. I would say 20 weeks to be more accurate.

i dont think they will let you know this early on incase they get it wrong, if they do tell you there is more chance they will be wrong than in 4-6 weeks time as it will be less accurate it also depends on how your baby is lying when i had my 20 week scan although they wernt allowed to tell me the sex the baby was lying with his back towards my stomach so they wouldnt have been able to check anyway, good luck x
