I have seen Spamalot just this past January. I think the show was absolutely incredible. The costumes were amazing, the songs unbelievable, the sets gorgeous. All in all it was a fantastic production. The humor was brilliant and the show tended to mock Broadway which was absolutely hilarious. One of the songs is titled "The Song That Goes Like This" this was a whole song about how in every Broadway production their is always a sappy song. The show was amazing you are going to have a wonderful time.

I thought it was great. It helps if you're a Python fan, especially if you've seen Holy Grail. As a matter of fact, I recommend seeing the movie first, just for reference.
The show expands greatly on the film, as Holy Grail was really just a series of sketches. Eric Idle did a good job of finding a narrative, weird as it is.
Great music, great sets, great dance numbers. I saw the original cast, but I think it would still have legs with a replacement cast.

I saw the original cast - including Tim Curry and the incomparable Sara Ramirez - and was absolutely blown away. However, I hear that without the stars, the show has lost of its energy and doesn't carry as well. I hope you see a good production; the book and lyrics are certainly funny!

I saw it in London, and I wasn't overly impressed. If you're a big Monty Python fan like me, you would instantly know most of the jokes, there doesn't seem to be much new stuff. The songs are okay though.

Never seen it, but I plan on it when I go to NYC this July. I've heard from a few people it's actually pretty funny.

I find it funny. It has decent music, and isn't a complete waste of time. It has a lot of "Guy-Humor" in it, so you might enjoy it more than your girlfriend does.
