Is there any reason why you wouldn't want to use the toaster oven?
- they replace a toaster
- you can cook/bake/toast/grill/broil in it
- you can use it in the sweltering summer heat instead of turning the stove on (so the heat doesn't heat up the entire kitchen area)
- it can be used to broil hotdogs
- you can use it to help keep food from the BBQ warm.
- you can bake homemade pizzas in them.
If you are dead set against using one then either re-gift it or sell it or exchange it. If you take it to the store you got it for in its original box you would get a store credit.

Is your family too large to make cooking in a toaster oven practical, or do you not know how to use one?
Toaster ovens are terrific for baking fish for two, two chicken breasts, french fries, bagels, baked potatoes, or garlic toast, etc., especially in the summer when you don't want to heat up the oven. Cooking times do vary from a convential oven though, so adjust accordingly.
Downside: they're slower for browning toast, but I still use mine for that purpose because I don't want to get a toaster and have another appliance hanging around taking up space.
If you don't want to use the toaster oven, why don't you have a garage sale? (Make sure your mother-in-law or whomever gave you that toaster oven doesn't see it for sale).
p.s. Cooking appliances that weren't even desired in the first place are crappy presents, lol...it's like giving someone a vacuum cleaner.

Give it to a relative for Christmas who has not seen the toaster oven yet. It's called "regifting".
