Boot the computer in Safe Mode and see if you can do a system restore to the day before you got the virus. That may allow you to get into regedit long enough to remove the virus.

You can also try running your virus scanner and spyware scanner while in Safe Mode and see if they will remove the virus for you.

You don't need any kinda software to edit your registry for good or bad purposes, Windows has an in-built command that not pretty known much people.Go to run and type regedit, the registry editor will open up allowing you to edit the registry.
Thanks,

You need to remove the virus.
Scan with you antivirus program in safe mode.
If you don't have it scan with some online scanners like http://www.bitdefender.com/ and http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=00&pkj=TINPLGWSBZHYZIFKWOZ&bhcp=1

Also scan with Ad-Aware SE Personal http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php and Spybot-S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

it also happened to me... I cannot open my registry and run my anti-virus, it is caused by a trojan horse(Vontrock)... try to download anti-spyware or a spybot. It will track the tojan and destroy it.
