I have been hearing this recently from people that Vermont would be a successful republic if they secede from the U.S. What's your take on this?

I think so.

Any of the northern states on the ocean (East or West) could secede and be eminently successful.

A few of them together could work even better. For example, New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania would make a great country.

Thomas Jefferson said that revolution would be good for us every generation or so . . . .

If some nutty human beings from Vermont prefer to get out of u.s. of u.s. just to make GWB look undesirable, they're extra effective in another country and we are extra effective off with out them. in the event that they think of the "problems" of u.s. of u.s. can in common terms be solved by utilising breaking apart the country and not attempting to restoration them from interior, then those human beings from vermont are the actual situation, no longer GWB. in spite of everything who's often recognized as between the "ultimate" presidents ever? Abe Lincoln!!! He had approximately 0.5 the country attempt to stop!!! Now we glance on the southerners as being pig headed and incorrect no longer Lincoln. Many look on the nuts from Vermont interior the comparable way. in spite of everything it incredibly is no longer ar actual "circulate" in common terms some nutcases.

What's their logic in thinking they will be a successful republic - that they have the world market cornered on maple syrup? They're hardly a successful state and would only be a successful republic if the nation for which they have such disdain poured billions into it. Somebody needs a reality check!

A few loudmouths decide to make a show of proposing sucession...and the bandwagoneers spread it around.

Here's a secession vote that passed

If any state could do it right, it would be Vermont.
Not that I want them to, but they are the most like a real independent republic.
They still hold town meetings in their small towns.
The people there really know how to stick together.
However, if they do, it will be looked at by terrorists as divide and conquer.

I have heard that the judges there are weak on child predators. Better get the kids out before they secede.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.. but a much larger part of the country tried to secede once. Right?

How did that work out for them?

I hope they do!!! Vermont is full of nothing but hippies and tree huggers!! I think after the secede we should build a wall around it and cut off all diplomatic and economic ties.

Let them all just sit around smoking weed and telling stories on how bad the USA is!

I hope that if Vermont does, California will follow, but we need a governor that has gumption, and so far schwarzenegger is nothing but a "girly man" (An expression that he popularized) for greedy corporations.
