They do not have to be in the top 10 based on performance, only their potential being top 10 material. ie the top 10 young players most likely to be Fifa World Player of the year in the future. Also, where and how would Man Utd's two new signings fit on the list, if indeed they do? (Nani and Anderson)

By young I am taking U20..that would leave...
1)Leo Messi - he would have made it here even if this was a seniors list
2)Anderson-one of the highest rated youngsters in the world today and player of the tournament in the last U17 WC.
3)Fernando Gago- Again a very highly rated player , even before he came to Real Madrid
4)Francesc Fabregas-The only blemish this guy has is that he plays for Arsenal so he aint gonna win anything.
5)Scott Carson -U will wonder what hez doing here , but at 19 this kid is simply amazing , jus think bout what he'll be 10 yrs on!!!
6)Jon Obi Mikel- earns his place here thanks to his amazing ability to adapt to many positions from DM to playing behind the striker
7)Gareth Bale - Tottenham's new star , like Fabregas is gonna suffer coz hez in the wrong team .Don't expect him to stay there for long though.
8)Manuel Fernandes -You just have to see his goal against United to see what he can do.
9)Giuseppe Rossi-Singlehandedly saving a team from relegation is not a thing many 19yr olds can boast of , but Rossi did exactly that for Parma , hope he makes it at United.
10)Alex DePato -Brazil's top scorer in the last U17 WC

I can't really name 10 footie players. Here are two that I like to follow:

1. Christiane Ronaldo

If he keeps up the good work and doesn't start falling around the pitch again.

2. Lukas Podolski

Great German player - currently in the Bayern Munich squad. I think he's in the wrong team. He should move to a club abroad - it would certainly help his career.

What would you classify as "young"? Either way, I wouldn't even be able to name five. I saw Messi play live for Barcelona and I definately think he's destined for stardom.

The one player I would like to mention is Guillermo Ochoa, the goalkeeper for Club America in Mexico. I realize we can't fully measure his potential playing in Mexico as opposed to other rising stars in Europe. He will turn 22 next month and I recently heard that a couple clubs in Europe are interested in signing him.
