Tortoise poo is very toxic because tortoise's carry their urine for long epriods of time because the urine is actually a back plan in case theirs no water to be found. Remember, tortoise's habitate in the desert regions where they have have to carry somekoind of liquid as do camels in case things get too dry.

Well, tortoises are vegetarians. If they ate something toxic then their poo would be toxic. I happen to have a tortoise & I have never had any effects from her poo (which by the way is plentiful). I would think that it depends on what they eat. For instance, some animals in the wild have certain defenses because of what they eat (frogs, etc.)

Paracetamol is highly toxic to dogs. Aspirin given no more than 300mg at a time can be very good for pain relief, always consult your vet first though.

I suspect that the source was mis -using the work "toxic". Likely they meant that it has the potential to transmit either parasites or bacteria but what animal waste doesn't have that potential?

Its not good for you, but it is not toxic, poisonous, etc. It is safer to handle than the waste of mammals, if that helps.

Come on, it is just digested plant matter and urea. Big whoop.

i know tortoises can carry salmonella...I can't imagine their poo would be so hot for your health just based on THAT...
