20 finalists. Do you know how many people are going to Las Vegas to audition? It seems like a lot of people got a yellow ticket.

They send like 200 people to Vegas, and then cut them down to 20. Most of the people who got on that plane will be coming right back home.
It's the same thing with American Idol. They send a bunch of people, then separate them into groups to perform. Then the judges deliberate and decide the 20 who get to stay.

They are sending quite a few contestants to Vegas. Then there will be some more cuts. Two more I think. The final cut will narrow it down to the 20 finalist.

I thought there were more cuts once they got to Vegas
