Titans was selected in the late 1950s as they wanted to be bigger than the Giants. This is a true fact. Old colors were blue and gold.

Larry Granthan a line backer played for both the Jets and Titants. He made a funny comment when at the polo grounds, They has so few fans then. Larry said instead of introducing the team in the warm ups, just let the players go into the stand to say hello to the fans. That how poorly attneded some games were.

The New York Jets began in the American Football League (AFL) in 1960. They used the name the New York Titans. The team was renamed to the Jets in 1963. The Jets were the first AFL team to ever beat a NFL team. It was the AFL-NFL 1963 World Champions. They beat the Baltimore Colts. The also joined the NFL in 1970.
