will the rear end off of a 95 2 dr. Grand Am fit on the rear end of a 94 2 dr. pontiac sunbird?

Its rotted around the springs.. we were gonna weld a patch on it... but its worse than we thought.. it wont pass inspection.. i dont wanna know how much its gonna cost me in labour because ive got my own mechanics..lol. Cape breton, nova scotia.. is bad for eatin cars... i am not givin er up. i would be crazy to get rid of it .. its one of the best around for livin in CB

if You are a mechanic ,Yes You can,but if You are not ,then it will be expensive.

the two axles came out of the same factory conveyor ,different month.

same cast different number.

Call some salvage yards in your area---they should have interchange manuals that tell them what parts fit different models and years of cars. Sunbirds would be the same as Olds Firenza, Buick Skyhawk, Cadillac Cimarron, Chevy Cavalier.

No different car platforms. And with rust all the bolts holding it will break removing the rear subframe not to mention the parking brake cables and brake calipers. Don't you think it is time to put 14 year old horse out to pasture. .The repair might cost as much as the car is worth.

I think you'd better check this out at a local repair garage. There are many trustworthy ones. I usually search in car repair directories to find something good.

It possible most of the time even if the car is a year a part its the same body style.
