I am downstairs in a townhouse complex. there is one person above my unit. when they shower or use water, I can hear the water from the drain as if its from my unit. its driving me crazy. is there anything I can do? thank you...

The piping is probably PVC. It's a great product except it is noisy when used. The main lines (which is probably what you are hearing) is just slightly smaller than the space in the wall so there is no room for insulation. Not much you can do without adding to the wall.

I guess you could hang carpet on that wall and then lay another layer of drywall over it. But you would still have a problem with the ceiling...
