I know I need to get new tires anyway, so I don't know why I'm asking this. But I know there's a trick you can do with a penny to test how worn your tire treads are. It has something to do with sticking a penny in the tread, and seeing or not seeing Ab Lincoln's hat (or beard, or whatever). I guess that's the question.

Taking the penny hold it upside down in the tread.If lincolns hair touches your tread your ok.its just a way of measuring tread thickness without using a true measuring device.
