Without a doubt, the graphics on the 360 are better. Microsoft has paid particular attention to squeezing the most graphics potential out of their consoles. Personally, I like the control better as well, although this is a matter of what you are used to.

However... I HAD a 360. I got it when my old XBOX died. (It was 4+ years old, and the 360 had been out about 6-8 months).

#1 disappointment, it didn't run my old games. Yes, they have a 'few hundred' of games available through software emulation you can download off the internet. However, these are REALLY scattered through their titles, and they count Madden 2006,2005,2004, etc as separate games. Out of 40-50 of my 'old' games, maybe a dozen are 360 compatible, and Microsoft is in no hurry to add to the list.

#2 dissapointment -- It just died. About 14 months old (12 month warranty), and my $400 console is a paperweight. Looking on the internet, this has happened over and over and the fix is $150+. (In many cases, the console isn't worth fixing). Keep in mind that day 1 Microsoft sold a 'extra' cooling fan as an accessory. (Don't they have faith!)

Reliability issues have haunted both versions of the X-Box. NONE of the other consoles have had this issue. They do what you expect from a game console -- they just work.

SO in summary, I've been a huge XBOX fan, but my confidence is shaken. I don't want to buy a $400 console with $60 games and be worried about it dying. I don't want to throw/give away my collection of favorite games that were current just a year ago. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with Sony. Now, I'm thinking about a wii -- the control system is very cool. Otherwise, I'll stick to PC games.

Both consoles are high definition. The games are in HD (if you have a HD TV). Sony has a Blu-ray DVD player built in, so you can play Blu-ray high def DVD movies. XBOX has an add on HD DVD player, if you what to play HD High Def movies. Both of which will be useless if the other format becomes the stadard (think VHS vs. Betamax -- one will win). You aren't really buying the game console to watch movies though.

Both are internet ready (plug in an internet cable). XBOX live is a current service. "Sony has stated that the PS3 will have similar online connectivity and services as the next generation of Xbox Live. "

Xbox 360 there so much better! for the Ps3 you need a flat screen tv just for the graphics to be good. The Ps3 also dose not have allot of games and the Ps3 is almost twice as expensive. the Wii has a small range of games most of them ether sports or younger kids games. I hope this helped allot!

What a group of sad answers.. let me clarify.

The Xbox360 is based on SD graphics (standard definition) which is basically almost as good as your TV screen at home (presuming you have a normal old TV screen).

PS3 has High definition, true high definition and blueray capabilities.. which means if you have a HD TV.. all you need to do is pop in the cable and you're playing games in TRUE HD.. which is more than twice the graphics sharpness and depth of a normal television screen (SD).

So when you ask which console has the better graphics.. there's absolutely no competition.. the PS3 is far better. Xbox360 claims to have a HD cable add-on but all it does is take the same SD signal and 'stream' it into the RGB plugs in the back of the TV... Umm, NOT HD, sorry.

Plus the PS3 is just really making it's entrance in the gaming world.. and it offers much more than the XBOX360 not to mention the fact that you can connect directly the REAL internet without having to pay extra.

It's .. more of the ADULT gaming console.

I've heard that the 360 gives you the best graphics out there. I haven't personally experienced it, but I hope this helps settle your choice.
