Global warming is a long term trend during which the average temperatures across the planet increase. The earth goes through natural warming and cooling cycles and has done since it was created a little over 4.5 billion years ago, these natural cycles are Natural Global Warming.
In the last 150 years temperatures have been rising much faster than can be attributed to natural events and the view is that this unprecedented rise is caused by human activities, something called Anthropogenic Global Warming.
NATURAL GW
Since the creation of Earth some 4,567 million years ago it has gone through many warming and cooling cycles. The current cycle is one of warming, this began 18,000 years and has warmed Earth by approximately 9°C; it's this warming which brought about the end of the last ice age some 10,500 years ago (note 1).
On a much larger time-scale, the world is in a general cooling phase and has been for about 50 million years, this in itself is part of a much larger cycle of long term cooling and warming.
It's thanks to the natural greenhouse effect that our planet is habitable, without it the world would be some 33°C colder.
ANTHROPOGENIC GW
If there were no life on Earth it would still be warming. Of concern is the unprecedented rise in temperatures over the last 150 years or so.
In recent years there has been much debate about the human contribution to global warming and consequent climate change. The IPCC (note 2) has conducted the most detailed examination of climate change to date and concludes that human cause is ‘very likely’.

There is a warming (by one or two degrees) of the Earth's climate. Over time it will be followed by a cooling, which in turn will be followed by yet another warming and so on. There is nothing to panic about. The world as we know it will not end. We are not all going to perish as a result of this warming trend. Just about everything we understand to date has a pattern. This wave pattern occurs often in nature, including ocean waves, sound waves, and light waves. All of these can be graphed or illustrated with a sine wave, and as a result can then be monitored and analyzed. In the case of global temperature we just don't have enough accurate data yet to ''plot'' a pattern which would help us predict coming changes. Don't forget, the only accurate recorded data we have dates back only about 100 years, everything else is just theories and guesswork. So you see, it's just a natural cycle. In fact, if we could and did change global warming we may in fact do greater damage to the Earth's future as this current warming may be vital to it's ecosystem!

It is not something that Al Gore made up to scare us.(!) It is here is because there is too much CO2 in the atmosphere and the CO2 is trapping too much heat that reflected off the surface of Earth. The CO2 came from cars and factories burning fossil fuels and also some natural causes. I, very strongly, agrees with Gore.
Of course, some people believes that it is just a natural thing Earth does, from cold to hot and back again. I really hope that is so, that humans are not killing other animals that live in cold weather. But why would nature do such a thing?

Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.
Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.
It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.
Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

The progressive gradual rise of the earth's surface temperature thought to be caused by the greenhouse effect and responsible for changes in global climate patterns. An increase in the near surface temperature of the Earth. Global warming has occurred in the distant past as the result of natural influences, but the term is most often used to refer to the warming predicted to occur as a result of increased emissions of greenhouse gases

read the following and choose my answer if u like it i doubt that u wont.
in response for toxins and fire remains and resultants a thick layer of gases formed around earth. when sun rises every day it sends a lot of energy to the earth in the form of light and heat OK tell now, the usual way is that the earth crust absorb this energy and then reflect gradually throw the day and night tell the next morning, and that's why the sea is warm at night - any ways if you remember that co2 and gases layer that we formed by burning all this oil in this irresponsible way this layer interfered by reflecting the heat that was already reflected by earth crust back to the earth !!!!!!!!!!! that procedure continues by reflecting from the earth and from the co2 layer and eventually the heat will be more than earth idol and hence changes will happen and this is what people are afraid of , what will happen is that the pole ice will start to melt in to the oceans and create cold streams that will change all the systematic of rain and weather all over the word which is already happening , movies has been made about that issue but my opinion is that they are magnifying much as i think many bad things will happen but after all humans will develop to match the new environment

in simple terms: global warming is when the globe (the world) starts to get hotter (warmer). now you would probably ask why is this important. well when the world's temperature increases and gets hotter it does a lot of damage. it can melt the glaciers in the north pole. when these large pieces of ice melt they can make the level of the ocean water rise. when the water rises it can cause floods on land. there is also a lot of scientific stuff that goes with that which says it can cause hurricanes and tornado's etc..
the hotter temperature can also cause certain gasses to develop in the air (called greenhouse gasses) that can break down the ozone layer too. the ozone layer is this invisible circle around the earth that protects us from some of the suns rays. its kind of like the earths sunscreen protection. if we hurt this even more rays from the sun come in and make the earth even hotter. this can cause more people to dye in the summer from heat exhaustion.

Global warming means that people are usin too much electicity, and gas, and there not recyclying enough basically. Its called Global Warming, because the air temperature is rising, becuase with all the cars and electronic stuff we are using is thinning the o-zone layer of the atmosphere. basically global warming is making a hole in the atmosphere. You can help stop global warming by putting in flourescent or a different lower wattage bulb. Also, instead of taking a 20 minnute shower take a 10 minnute one. its good that your concerned.

with the development of the industries in the 19 century expecially hard industries like chemicals industries, oil industrie, army industries food industrie ect the % of the gases that come out this industries was not controlled,so the % of the gases like CO,C,CO2,SO2 etc begin to enviore our amosphera and to have a real bad effect in o-zone layer "like torning it".so with the pasing of time the % of this gases grows much further and they begin to cover our planet all around,so in this moment when those gases sourround our atmosphera, while the sun rases come into the earth to warm and shine the planet these rases turn back from earth to the atmosphera(this is called the rereflectation of the sun rases from earth to atmosphera)but in our times these gases dont let these rases to get out in the atmosphera increasing in this way the temperature of our whole planet, and this thing provoces global warming
