There is no legal age here in the UK.

LEGALLY there is no age, morally it is when the oldest child is 10!
I know this because we owned our own 2bed house & when we tried to get on the housing register we were told there is no legal obligation to house us but morally it is not advisable!
Also a child can sleep in the same room as their parents until they are a year old!
WE only qualified on overcrowding points because we had 4 children in 1 bedroom & only had a lounge/diner & kitchen downstairs!
WE also had the same arguement with social services because they said it wasnt acceptable to have 4 children in 1 room when 1 of them was a boy! Thankfully we are now finally in a three bed house!

As far as i know there is no legal age, just guidelines. I think inhousing associations or council properties it is generally when the eldest reaches 7 although this varies from place to place. I would certainly not let them share a room over the age of 10 max! Hope that helps.

You don't mention where you live. Some areas do have laws like that, but generally it applies to rental properties and total number of occupants. My suggestion has always been that when the older child starts to show signs of wanting privacy and/or sexual awareness, it is time for kids of different sexes to be moved into thier own rooms. Your daughter is 7 and my bet is that privacy will become a major issue to her in the next year or so. She will be unwilling to run the risk of anyone seeing her naked and will start to need space of her own. She is also only a few years away from the onset of puberty..once her body starts to change it is definitely time to move the kids to seperate rooms.

They are still a little young. Since it two differnet sexes and the girl is older, I would suggest about 10 years old for the girl, unless she is already voicing her opinion yo have her own room. Girls development much quicker than boys physcially and emotional. So it would be a wise idea to have her in a room with her brother to much longer.

depends on how mature your daughter is-since she is the oldest. I had the same situation growning up. I finally got my own room at the age of 13. We lived in a 3 bedroom house and my older brother got his own room. After he moved out the room became mine. I would suggest that you go ahead and give her the option of having her own room. She will let you know when she is ready.

Where I live it's illegal from day one sorry to say. I lived in a small 2 bedroom with my 2 kids and wanted them to share a room, but was told I couldn't by Children's Aid Service. I couldn't even share a room with my son once he was out of his crib.

There is no legal age, but a suggestion is that when your daughter turns 11 or 12, get her her own room because teen girls can be a pain when they complain about not having their own rooms.

There is no legal age, but your daughter is going to start becoming very aware of her body within the next year or so, that will be the time to split them up, so I would start planning how you are going to do it now

I would separate the chidren of diferent sexes when the girl is around.. 10 maybe?? I wouldnt put them in a room together just because I wouldnt... But I guess in your case, when your daughter starts being interested in having some privacy you should prbably get her her own room

Don`t wait to the any age to let them have own rooms. But do it now , to avoid the question from them why you refuse to let them share the same bed room.
