Close your eyes and start thinking of what you want from life. Don't think of sleep. Only keep eyes closed. Focus on your thoughts. That will help. How ? You will know in the morning.

Just try to relax and think about calm thoughts.
If something is bothering you, make up your mind to resolve it tomorrow instead of loosing sleep over it tonight.
If this is a regular thing then, join yoga class. I will help you.
Exercise, eating right and drinking enough water can help, but no it will take a while to see the results (days, maybe weeks). Also make sure you have fun, rest and relaxation.
Maybe you need to change your lifestyle. Maybe something you are doing or not doing might be affecting you.

think of nothing. it may be hard at first, but play a game withyourself. Find a comfy position and do nothing but clear your mind. It will seem tedious at first but soon you will find yourself asleep. If you wake up very soon after it is because you have something on your mind your brain wants you to take care of. Sorta like the christmas day feelings of anxiety. you try to sleep but wake up constantly because you are eager for presents. No matter how hard you try that thought alone will keep you awake. Also i assume your a girl so it could also be a horomone embalance. Try to raise your iron intake, and refrain from strenous activities since it could possibly raise your tostesteron levels. And you'll notice women tend to take to tostesteron like caffine. makes you hyper and over active. And hairy but thats another subject.

Make yourself as comfortable as possible: nice bed, soft, pleasing colours all around you in the room (not at all messy), soft, nice music, preferably flute (low volume, but audible clearly): lie down comfortably, close eyes gently, try to think of nothing other than sound sleep and the music and all good things in life, mainly good sound sleep and good health, but keep listening to that music......zzzzzz...you are asleep, already!
